Metallica - Ride The Lightening

Armored Saint

W.A.S.P

Metallica

Live @ The Sherwood, 6500 S. Emerson, Indianapolis, IN

Wednesday Jan 30th, 1985 7:30pm

Admission cost, $8.50

Metal posers rocked out to Armored Saint and W.A.S.P however Metallica at the time was too HEAVY.  During Metallica's set and until the conclusion of their offering only a handful of fans (less than 20) were on hand and rockin out!!  The largest percentage of those left were Punkers.  Posers had called it an early night and bolted the scene...

Recalling this show blows my mind; I stood inches from stage - right side and witnessed what became one of the most influential heavy metal bands of all time.

Ride The Lightening remains my favorite album... call it a quality first impression driven fav.

Rock On!

Easton Corbin - A Little More Country Than That

Not being a mainstream Country Music listener; this tune caught my ear and heart while out 2step dancin recently.

A run around the ol internet led me to learn this tune hit #1 on country music charts in April 2010.  Likely the reason I’m hearing it at Cowboys Dancehall and Midnight Rodeo…

Corbin is the first solo artist in 7 years to send a debut single to #1.

I’m very fond of the lyric, blend of guitar, fiddle, steel throughout song, and the ‘hint’ of a bit of Strait within Easton’s vocal.

A Little More Country Than That

Writer(s)- Rory Lee Feek, Don Poythress and Wynn Varble

Imagine a dirt road full of potholes
with a creek bank

And some cane poles catchin’ channel cat
I’m a little more country than that
Picture a small town with an old hound
Layin’ out front of the courthouse while
the old men chew the fat
I’m a little more country than that

Chorus:
I just want to make sure you know just who
you’re gettin’ under this old hat

‘Cause girl I’m not the kind to two-time or play
games behind your back

I’m a little more country than that

Think of a Hank song from days gone
With the steel ride that’s so strong it sends
chills up your back

I’m a little more country than that

If you want a brick home in a school zone
With the doors locked and alarms on, girl
you’re way off track

I’m a little more country than that

Repeat Chorus

Yeah, I’m sure that you’ve heard those three
words from others but they fell flat

But this ring ain’t something that I mean to
give you and then take back
I’m a little more country than that
I’m a little more country than that
I’m a little more country than that

Daryle Singletary

The state of today's 'pop' country clearly defined w/ I Still Sing This Way.

Daryle owns one the finest voices I've heard!

His talent either overlooked, forsaken, or flat out ignored in Nashville suit circles!
