Richardson Bike Mart ~ Coolness
I was in DFW recently for cross training with the DCOPS men at Rackspace. During my short time in Big D, I visited one of largest bike shops in the United States.
Richardson Bike Mart has a rich history within cycling circles. For those who have read Lance Armstrong's It's Not About the Bike know the shop and the owner Jim Hoyt are dear to Lance. I'll leave it at that.
The first thing I noticed upon entry was how big the place is. The second thing was an experience along the lines of "Wow, this place is a cyclists ultimate candy store".
I met Jim without knowing who he was. He helped me make a decision about non locking or locking fork mounts to affix to a 2X4 or 2X6 to drop into the bed of my F150. As we talked; we learned that we share the birth right of being Hoosiers!!
Jim was very down to earth; he spent at least 15-20 minutes with me talking about Lance and the early days. Very cool to say the least.
I hope you enjoy the photos. There's a Gary Fisher theme to them as I own (2) Fishers and will likely own more when it's time to throw down coin on my first true road bike or my dream mountain bike the Superfly.
Special thanks to my friend and current team lead at Rackspace, Drew R. who gave me the tip to visit Richardson Bike Mart.
