On Friday October 30th, 2009 I paid a surprised visit to my daughter Emily’s 1st grade class. I was very impressed with the level of subject matter being covered. For example, students purchasing real school supply items with a hand written check! ! On the financial minded lesson front, I asked one of Emily’s classmates Josh when he expected debit cards to be issued; he quickly responded “in a couple weeks”! Needless to say, Josh’s assessment of matters drew a robust laugh from me. . .
Another observation I made was that Classroom Rule #6 states; ‘No Put Downs, only Put Ups’. A very solid rule for all of us.

Emily is the youngest in her class.
