Texas 34 Tech 24 - 9/19/2009

My nephew Nick is in town visiting me from back home in Indiana.  When we began to plan his trip, seeing the Longhorns play ball rose to the very top of his desired list of things to do.

Saturday 9/19/2009 we spent the whole day in Austin, TX soaking up a tailgating scene that blew my mind.  UT tailgaters kick out a real good time and they’re all over the damn place.

The game was competitive with the Red Raiders scoring at will in second half, but in the end it was UT holding serve at home.  The game highlight for me was Taylor Potts (QB) for Tech getting laid out by Sergio Kindle early in the 4th quarter. . .  BOOM!

As far as seeing the Longhorns live; Royal-Memorial Stadium is now the largest football stadium I’ve visited.  Attendance 101,297!

To be a part of a record crowd and to see the big ol grin on Nick’s face all day while he soaked up the Longhorns game day experience made the effort to secure tickets more than worthwhile.

Hook’em Horns!
